With extensive experience in both academia and professional practice, I bring a unique interdisciplinary perspective to heritage conservation and architecture. My qualifications include:

  • Former Associate Professor at several institutes, including the Architecture Department at the Higher Institute of Engineering, Shorouk Academy
  • Consultant for the UNESCO-sponsored Urban Regeneration of Historic Cairo – Stage 3 project, in collaboration with the Ministry of Antiquities (Aug 2017 - Feb 2020)
  • Consultant for the Egyptian network of CICOP Italy
  • Invited Speaker at the 3rd Congress on Multicultural Cemeteries (May 2019, Florence & Turin, CICOP, Italy)
  • Head of the Community Contribution Team, Higher Institute of Engineering, El Shorouk City (Dec 2015 - Sep 2020), leading initiatives that served both local and external communities
  • Practical Experience in architectural design, with roles at Grandeur Design Studio (GDS), EHAF Consulting Engineers, Arab French Consultants (AFCO), and Specialized Architectural Center (SAC)
  • Organized webinars, lectures, and workshops focusing on heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, and sustainable design practices
  • Published numerous articles and papers on architectural theory, regeneration strategies, and heritage preservation

Dr. Yassmein Hamdy Abdalla an Egyptian researcher in the field of vernacular architecture and Urbanism. She had her bachelor’s degree from Architectural Department, Faculty of Engineering, Cairo university in 2003. Her master’s degree (2007) and PhD (2014) are from the same university. Both my master’s and PhD theses focus on the vernacular architecture and sustainability. 

She taught many academic courses for undergraduate architectural Level in Architectural Department, Faculty of Engineering, 6th of October and Effat college of Architecture and Design, Effat University, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. She has many published work Vernacular interpretations in world urbanism and the concepts of Public Spaces and resilient urban approaches for the less and least developing countries.

Reem is a former Customer Care Manager at Vodafone Egypt for 15 years. She was responsible for all operations across the department, aligning multiple teams performance with the company goals and strategy, and developing the skills and soft skills of the team leaders to let them be the best versions of themselves in and off work. Reem made a career shift and worked as a marketing manager at Rithu. She has unique marketing skills in understanding the client’s needs and providing them with tailored solutions that suit their character and serve their purpose, not ready-made ones. She
 

then worked as Operation Manager of Rithu Network as well, where she showed different skills in handling conflicts and managing people to keep the operation flow smooth, and now she is the chef operation officer responsible for all operations across Rithu Company.

 Dr. Amer provides technical services and studies in assessing the outstanding values and cultural significance of (UNESCO World Heritage) heritage sites, historic buildings and urban/rural/cultural landscapes, a framework for the (strategic) heritage management plan, and proposing heritage marketing directions, visitor management, interpretation and cultural tourism activities. In addition, he presents interdisciplinary capacity-building programs in heritage studies.

He has ten years of academic and professional experience in various innovative professional disciplines, particularly heritage management (tangible & intangible), heritage/museum marketing, sustainable cultural tourism, visitor management and interpretation, urban/rural heritage development, and community engagement. He is a member of the ICOMOS International Cultural Tourism Committee. He participated in multiple international heritage projects in Egypt, Oman, Italy, and Sweden. For more info.

The Ministry of Culture and Tourism of Korea, Under the patronage of UIA (The International Union of Architects).He participated in Jeongok Prehistory Museum International Competition. The Gyeonggi Provincial Government in Korea, Under the patronage of UIA (The International Union of Architects).He worked for number prestigious companies as; Al Amar Consulting Group SA. ,Wadi Degla Investment Company. And also, he worked as a freelancer.He held various positions including; Principal Interior Designer, Architectural Design Group Leader (Working drawing), Architectural Design Manager, Technical Office Engineer (Team Leader) and others.He worked in major projects as the Golden Pyramids Plaza, new food court phase two, House of Gerry Weber (shop)and Women's International Peace Movement (office) in City Stars. Worked on number of conservation projects with remarkable international entities as Al Aga Khan Foundation (Foundation Trust for Culture) , Getty Institute (USA), GTZ-GIZ-NGO,  United Consultant Office and Al-Baraem Institute and others. My work conducted high valued historic areas as Al-Sayeda Zinab region, al khayyameya area in AL-Azhar, Al-Darb AL-Ahmar Area, Khedivial regions (Abdin and Helmia), Al-Azhar street and others. I also worked on number of architectural projects as; Touristic Village Overlooking Karoon Lake, Fayoum, Shopping Mall and commercial office building, Downtown, Art Gallery, 6th of October, Hospital Project, Redesigning the Façade of Alamain Airport and others. My work included documentation, regeneration of historic cities, planning, housing, upgrading of urban open spaces, urban design and architectural projects. Shared in number of  seminars, workshops, conferences and publications.
