Rithu was established in July 2020, a period marked by the height of the coronavirus pandemic and its far-reaching economic repercussions, which affected not only the domestic economy but the entire globe. Rithu mainly aims to:
1- Create investment modules that operationalize at various scales, spanning from micro to macro. These modules are designed to capitalize on latent opportunities within the realm of urban heritage. 2- Develop regeneration strategies for historic cities and heritage contexts by implementing comprehensive approaches to rehabilitation, adaptive reuse, and other conservation methods in order to achieve touristic, cultural, economic, and social development.
Rithu was founded to address long-standing issues in the field of heritage conservation:
• Lack of solid business models that would suit skilled scholars in the field of heritage conservation, where it was observed that many professionals have received low or underestimated fees.
• Lack of a system that targets the efficient selection, evaluation and monitoring performance of genuine professionals in the field of Heritage Conservation.
• The existence of a clear gap between professionals in the field of Heritage Conservation, addressing the educational, research and practical disciplines.
• In existence of a comprehensive framework that is able to deal with problems related to the loss of heritage, either tangible or intangible.
It was decided to assist in solving such problems by:
• Transforming direct skilled scholars into a profitable business through creating number of business models conducting different approaches and sectors of the heritage conservation field.
• Establishing a selection and evaluation system that aims at distinguishing between genuine professionals involved in the field of Heritage Conservation.
• Adopting a vision in which heritage conservation is accomplished through interactive programs involving consultation, research and publication, education, and community engagement.
• Applying comprehensive framework that targets the loss of tangible and intangible heritage in absence of a comprehensive framework to deal with the specialty of our heritage.
• Track every possible hidden potential and provide opportunities to benefit from it to the greatest extent possible.
• Integrate new uses and contemporary living styles within the existing heritage context.
